Ganges, 5am. One of my last days in India. Not only a beautiful site, but also a fun morning spent with some great kids.

  • Kitanomaru Park near Kudanshita station. Ranked the best spot for cherry blossoms in Tokyo. Tons of people midday on a weekday, but enjoyable nonetheless!
  • Plum blossoms at Yushima shrine, Tokyo.
  • Nighttime walk in Kyoto.
  • The view from Panorama Ridge looking towards Garibaldi Lake a couple hours north of Vancouver.
  • A bit of peace among Vancouver's rapidly developing downtown.

  • A well near where i was living in Varanasi is host to thousands of saris, thrown away by women wishing for fertility and healthy babies. After purifying themselves in the water and putting on new saris, they leave the old ones behind.

  • More Taj, roughly 6:30am. I was about 8th in line to get in, hence the lack of anyone else.
  • At the festival celebrating the birth of Krishna, the 7th reincarnation of Vishnu. The celebration included little statues being pulled out of cucumbers (just as it sounds), offerings of food to Krishna, and dancing well into the morning that alternated between classical Indian and bollywood music. The night ended with 10 people crashed out inside/outside of a tiny apartment waiting for the sun to rise and the rickshaw to take us all home.
  • I forget what this shop was selling.
  • Water water everywhere.
  • The Ganges rose quickly during the week, but that didn't stop the locals from turning the roof of this small hut into a diving board.
  • The Hindu ceremony "Aarti" held at Assi Ghat near our apartment.
  • They say rural to urban migration is accelerating in India, but i never realized what it meant until now. haaaa....
  • Inside the gorgeous opera house in Paris.
